Lidl Inverter

Post by D&DCAMPA »

I have been reading through some of the old posts as Im looking to get an inverter, but still bloomin confused!
what I want to know is what sort of thing can I run off this lidl inverter?
http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/lidl ... _10208.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
it seems very cheap and Im suspecting that its for low watt items but Ive no idea how much a tv/dvd player would use?
Any help is always appreciated. :ok

It does what it says on the box, 150 Watts continuous power output.
Your appliaces you want to run will have their power rating marked on them somewhere, usually on a label on the back.

Personally, I think inverters are pretty pointless in a camper - they can't run higher powered items, and most lower powered items are better served by a 12v adaptor, as you'll generally be inverting the voltage up to 240AC just to transform it back down to 12-20V DC anyway.

Strange, I run a 1400w microwave off of mine.

I mean the kind of cheap portable ones such as the OP mentions - I'm aware you can get more powerful ones (although I'd question how practical they are in terms of battery life).
