Euro light bodging.
Having just had the MOT done, it seems my lights were never UK-ified on import. Anyone here got any tips on the required beam-blocking and how to bodge the right-rear fog and illuminated switch?

I was gonna try and bodge it with some tape, but 3 quid seems pretty reasonable. Hopefully that's for a pair...

The foglamp isn't too much of insue either....you will find that the O/S/R lamp holder already has a place for a 21watt bayonet bulb but hasn't got the positive feed terminal. This can be modified with a bit of enginuity (pen spring and BA nuts and bolt. I'm not sure if there is wiring already there, or to the N/S/R lamp but whatever...you need to have a switch somewhere on the dash with indicator lamp (to show when the fog light is turned on)

The left fog works, so I was think I could just extend the wiring from there over to the right. I'll swap the bulb over and see what bits I've got in my box of crap to make it work. Looks like the switch has a lamp or led built in - any ideas where I can take a feed from for this?

Interesting...
Just been out for a poke around with the old multimeter, and discovered that I do have an offside rear fog light after all! However, its connected to the second click of the three-position, front and back style switch. Seems Mr MOT only clicked it to the first one! Muppet.
Anyway, he's right about the 'tell-tale' light, its there but not connected. So, all I need to do is to connect the tell-tale to the earth for the one in the hazard switch beneath it, and then for good measure connect the unused terminal for the front fogs to the rear one, so that either 'on' position does the same thing (in case it meets a similarly thick tester in future). Job done!
Soon as my beam-benders arrive I can slap it in for the retest. Full cost of repairs? About a fiver. Happy horns.
