Pain in the butt ain't it

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm...................

Been having a read on the WIKI and there is lots of good info, and lots of faults with poor running and poor starting pointing to the ECU :!: I know there is no easy way to check the ECU, but is there an easy way to check the AFM is working correctly :?:

My problem was down to a defunct Temp Sensor :|

Less than a tenner and it's all sorted now :)

Still running with the Idle Air Control valve disconnected, but doesn't appear to be causing me any problems like this :)

Hello Bond-
ive just had a hot start problem tonight on my 1.9 injection DH van. when you say temp sensor, do you mean the sensor just to the left of the one that supplies the dash needle reading? (also on the thermostat housing) known as the temp 2 sensor? (i think!?)
cheers!

Got to agree with Em's earlier post re hot starting.

The handbook gives 3 starting routines.
1) Cold start- Throttle pedal to floor release slowly, then turn the key.
2) warm engine start- start engine while slowly depressing the throttle pedal.
3) Hot engine starting- throttle pedal to floor and hold it there. start engine.

Then ,start spending time and money
