Hydraulic Followers

Post by Tug »

Hi all,

It appears my Bus / Camper (2.0 CU) has developed an occassional rattle from a follower when she is under load. It comes and goes and when it comes the engine mis fires very slightly. I have noticed also as of late that when I start it from cold it is like compression is down on one pot then it dissapears and it fires up and runs great.
The engine runs well and pulls up to 6o mph very good. Do you think that a follower is bleeding down anb causing this....
Have just completed a 700 mile trip in her and all was great. 60 - 70 on the motorways....

Any ideas

Glenn.

Weathers getting warmer and your timing is too far advanced. Will cause the symptoms you describe for both running and starting.
I believe the sound you are getting under load is 'pinking'. A form of pre-detonation but also caused if the timing is too advanced.
