Many Camping Municipal have service points just outside them costing a Euro or two available from the reception/guardhouse, and for a modest fee (again 1 or 2 Euros) you can have a damned good freshen up.

Aires on the motorway aren't the same thing as the ones you camp in - Aire de service vs Aire de Camping-Cars.. Aire just means area.

I've got a shower in my van. It is cold though. It doubles as the sink tap. It is on a flexible pipe. Can pass it out the window to hose down mucky dogs and children.
Cheers

Time to give rustydubnuts a prod and get him to post up some pics of his syncro Trekka (phwoar) which has this very arrangement, but with running hot and cold! He explained it thus:kevtherev wrote: Around the lip of the gate fix some press studs.. bit of pipe....
The cold water tank has an overspill to a second (insulated?) water tank that has a heater coil, connected to the aux.heater circuit. Works a bit like a flash boiler I guess. Hot water and plenty of it.
Engine running, hook up the water, the cold fills first and then tops up the hot as it's used. Taps are in the back of the wardrobe.
Nice.
Fitting is maybe not a weekend's work

Ou est le piscine?
Find the local swimming pool and pay to use the showers there. Or pay to go swimming and just use the shower.
Years ago I used to live in a house with no running water and we used to frequent Bangor Leisure centre for showers, and sometimes the campsite down the road.
