Help! Sliding door wont open from the inside

I've had a trawl through the forum and cant see any discussion on this topic. Our sliding door wont open from the inside. has this happened to anyone else? is it easy to fix?

Sorry to be a pest, only had the van a few weeks so learning all the time

There's a child proof device on it. Open it from the outside and there is a small steel catch halfway down the inner section of the door. Push it up (or down?) and that should do it.

Thanks - i'll have a go at that when I get home. Last owners didn't have kids so maybe didn't know about the sneaky child lock.

Thanks for the excellent advice. Cant believe i didn't try that little switch but it was so worn it just looked like a bit of metal that wasn't supposed to be there. The joy of being able to exit the van now without trying to slide open the window and risking decapitation when it flies back!

My niggle list is getting shorter by the day.
