Solex parts

Post by very_bland »

Howdy all!

Damien sorted me out with a pair of Solex PDSIT 34's a while back (Top man! 8) ) but there are a few bits I still cannot find, after endless hunting and searching.... nothing!

Right these are the parts:

1) The connecting rods from the linkage to each carb, I have one of the two, which has a metal threaded rod, with plastic connectors on each end, (marked springfix) I contacted a company called springfix to see if they could supply these, and I got no reply.

2) 1 carb's missing the wider of the two springs on the throttle part, again can't find that anywhere.

3) On one of the carbs there is a cylindrical part with an electrical socket of some sort in it. On the part is written:
A.PIERBERG KG GERMANY
7.20301 00 12V 0164
(VW AUDI) 049 129 412 A
If you know the part I'm talking about, would you mind filling me in on what plugs into that.

4) The gaskets from the manifold to the cylinder head I have found from machine 7, but the carb to manifold gaskets I can't find anywhere.

Finally the flappy bits on the top of the carb (air intake bit) have opposite actions, one stays open an I can close it by pushing it, the other is closed and can be opened by pushing it, is this right or is there something that needs repairing there?

I think that's everything.

Any help as always GREATLY appreciated!
:ok

Cheers,
Billy.

I've got rory (supplier of carbs to me) on the case with 12 and 4. # 3 should have a black wire going into it the same one as supplies the fuel shut offs and chokes.
