Today I finally got around to installing my 90 amp Alternator.
I got twin digital Voltmeters in my dash (Starter & Leisure). I just wanted some advice on the voltage the uprated one is kicking out, as both readings much higher then my old one! I was quite surprised the amount of charge I am getting!
I got a raw components intelligent split charge relay between the starter and the Leisure.
Old Alternator (probably 45amp) no label on it
Starter battery
13.7v upon start up without load etc
Leisure battery
12.2v (current not high enough & Leisure wasn’t getting charged much)
New Alternator
Starter
14.5v upon start up without load
Leisure
14.8v (it’s now receiving charge)!
Is this right or could this be a bit too high?

They looked ok in the old one when inspected. However I now need more power and I don't think the old Alternator was providing enough. I got a big stereo system!

OK if you need amps fair enoughsky.
Just that My 45er was doing your trick, the brushes looked OK too but I changed the regulator/brush pack and had better charging, mine went to 14.2 from 12.9 at the leisure

Re: 90amp Alternator Voltage reading (this ok)?
Cheers. You replied on my other post 'would my Alternator fit' a couple of weeks ago.
I was going to change the fan belt today. Though existing one only about a year old. I was given 2 from my local motor shop. Bloke said in his parts book. Mine (1984) is a change over year and it could be one of 2 part numbers?
Neither of them fitted. I fitted the existing one back on, but I had to put the adjustment on the farest point of the adjustment slider to get my fan belt taut.
As this 90amp Alternator style is slightly different. Do I need to change the adjust slider as well?

Re: 90amp Alternator Voltage reading (this ok)?
I tried a 90 amper and didn't need to adjust anything.. it even tightened up in the same place
but then all that was different on either alternator was the colour of the sticker.
I have since returned to a 45amp
