Pop top won't stay up

Hi guys I have a 1982 t25 with a pop top that won't stay up it has a gas strut on each end and also runs on runners .should the roof stay up with just the struts or am I missing something

Oh crikey, the top should stay up with the struts and I had the same problem. Not much help I know but someone on here gave me details of a strut supplier and they were very reasonably priced BUT I cant find the original thread to pass the details.
