Driver door button stuck

Post by Sunray »

I can't lock the drivers door. The door button has seized and the key won't turn. I think its the catch mechanism. I think I'd need to replace it. I've not tried to remove it yet, is the mechanism serviceable?

Anyone know where to get these, a search produces many for the sliding door but not for the drivers door.

You can remove everything once the door card is off. I'd have a look at fixing rather than replacing firstly.

I've had the mech off and its not user serviceable but is not obvious why its behaving like it is. The passenger side door I can lock and unlock it when ever I want, but on the driver side door it only locks when the door is closed.

The key has stopped working, it doesn't go in far enough any more. This is why I have noticed the above behaviour, so I'm gonna order a new door handle with the lock in.

It's actually meant to be that way, so that you don't accidentally lock yourself out (...which of course can still be achieved when you get out the sliding door with cab doors locked already  )

Ahh, so a new handle will solve it. That's 8)

I think I'll get central locking installed and coupled to the alarm button to save having to use the key anymore.
