Help please.......engine wont start, think its the fuel pump, have disconected the outlet pipe from the pump and when the engine turns over no
fuel comes out..does this mean the pump is naffed or could it be something else... and there is definately fuel in the tank

Petrol? Mechanical fuel pump? yes....you should be seeing a squirt of petrol 1-2 times a second, whilst cranking.
Something could be blocked....fuel filter or pickup in the tank (it does happen with old rusty fuel tanks alot) blow back through the fuel line into the tank...try again. The fuel pump is the most likely tho.

Try taking the pump off and moving it by hand. Takes a bit of effort as it has quite a strong return spring but if you can move it all the way in and out when connected to fuel line from tank it may well spurt (sorry!) into life again.
Worth a try. This has worked on several vehicles in the past with the same problem.
