speedo cable anyone

Having just been told these are now obsolete has anyone sourced a new one recently?
Mine has the outer plastic retainer broken off behind the dash but the inner is perfectly servicable.
I am a little shocked at how much I was quoted for a second hand unit, apparently more than they were new.
Any ideas?

this place is only about 10miles away from me, they will make any thing that you want and they are not too bad on price,could be woth getting a few sets made up, you would have to surply them with a template.
