side door
Can any one explain why the side door of my transporter keeps pinging open when going along ? I've adjusted the pin countless times and oiled the door lock, it'll be fine for ages, then, for no apparent reason starts doing it again, is it just that the transporters were built from cheap tinny parts ????

Re: side door
Mine did this when I bought it, I ended up replacing the catch as the step in the wee arm in there was worn out.
It is worth cleaning all the grease and gunk off the catch parts first incase it's not closing onto the second notch properly because of accumulated muck.

Re: side door
Take inside door panel off, no need to take door off. Disconnect the cable, remove the rear lock, (use a big pozi bit in a socket I think) take the lock apart. Inside you will find steel latches. The main one which grips the pin on the bodywork is sort of U shaped IIRC and there is a smaller one which latches the main one in the locked position. The small area where the two latch together gets worn, and you can carefully reshape both bits with a small file. I did mine six years ago and it hasn't popped once since!
1.9D (AEF) pop-top. Aaaaahhhhh........that's better.

Re: side door
