"cowl"???

This ought to be in alternative engine forum really..

You need to use the T25 specific parts to convert the audi engine to be able to fit.. ie sump, oil pump/pickup (better idea to buy a good quality new one) engine mounts etc..
Not sure about turbo location/orientation.. and IIRC the turbo oil return line will need modding to the sump (if poss)

Thanks for your advice not sure what new engine your talking about? No Idea what engine will go straight on manual box, dont wont ecu If I can help it. not putting a straight 1.6 diesel back in that. Whats a ICC (no EcU). Alternator is on wrong side it has VW written all over the engine. Have to do away with power steering on new engine(no prob) . Sumps no prob. Thanks again Geoff

EH???? :? :?

You need to be a lot clearer on what you are saying and read what I have said....

You said you have seized 1.6d T25

You say you have bought an Audi 1.6td (I presumed to fit the engine into the t25??)

You need to swap the T25 parts over to the "new" engine (from the Audi :ok ) to make it fit.. (if thats what you are going to do??) the Audi engine will bolt straight up to the T25 box...
You may well have to swap a good few other parts too as the engine ancileries were designed to fit in very different applications..

Nowhere did I mention ecu etc etc etc.. what I did was to tell you what you need to do to fit the Audi engine into the t25.....

If you want an engine that bolts right in without swapping anything then you need an engine thats already been fitted to a T25 (properly)

I put an Audi tdi into my t25. i really would not bother with an old audi 1.6. you probably got it cheap but it's false economy. By that I mean it will end up costing you more in the end. I would suggest from my experiences with slotting in an old "cheap" engine that you just bite the bullet and get a recon engine from justKampers,Warranted full power output better economy it would pay for itself in the longrun compared to 20 year old smokey audi 1.6.
