Propex exhaust flue

Howdy all..

I have removed my sha**ed RM122 gas fridge and gone Waeco compressor electric. This leaves the fridge flue either a useless hole in the side OR perhaps available as a flue outlet for a Propex HS2000 ?

Propex installation blurb says: 'In vehicles and caravans the unit is usually mounted in a bed-box or cupboard, flued downwards through the floor and out to the side of the vehicle using flexible stainless ducting'

Can the Propex actually be safely flued upward to the old RM122 flue outlet ? Seems a shame to have to cut a hole in the floor when a previous flue outlet is already there in the side of the van, and with a nice shiny alloy cover plate as well.

it's designed with the flues on the bottom so easiest to fit that way and safest as the flues are integral so no products of combustion in the cabin cos of loose jubilee clip or leaking pipe, weld up the old fridge vent holes and sort all the rust that's bound to be in the area on the inside and it'll last a lot longer

You can mount the propex at any angle on the horizontal (air in / outs must never be facing up or down only side ways) axis, does that make sense?? So it could exhaust directly out of the hole left by the fridge.

Sorry thought they were all pretty much the same. Was basing the theroy on my Compact 1600 which you can mount as above.

Thanks all for the advice. Downward flue it is then, and another hole in me floor.

The old Electrolux vent cover will remain as a bit of original equipment polished trinket-ery. Too late to weld it all up now the paint is on. The inside is actually very tidy, thankfully. I'll have to use something robustly adhesive to mask off the hole.
