Re: T.V. Ariel
I bit the bullet recently, Mrs Snoz loves her telly in the winter months - & fed up with a dodgy signal at a lot of the places we stay at - we now have one of those sat - systems - in - a - case from maplin. once you get used to setting it up it's ideal.

We have one of these and nearly always have a good picture , even on freeview, when camping.

Likewise I would be intrested to know as well. Does it have a clip for easy mounting and dis-mounting? It's just I doubt on my Holdsworth, I'll have a place to mount it permanently?

Re: T.V. Ariel
Those shown above (Windysurfer, etc) are definitely the best of all the ones I have tried. Most camping and caravanning accessory shops stock these along with various mounts and the alloy poles (that can be clipped together to extend the height). Worth taking a trip and having a look.....pretty sure you will find something that will generate ideas for a solution. I had those clips mounted on the rear ladder and attached the pole/aerial to that...

This is the uni bracket that mine fits into. I cut a pole down to about 1 foot and the signal is good. I removed the self adhesive pad part you can see on the left of the bracket and thats where my roof rack clamps into now. You could also fit it onto the roof rack ladder If you have one. I leave bracket in place when travelling te just pop the aerial in when on site.

Ours is fixed to the pop-top so when camped it's as high as possible. Have seen Tim the Traders mounted on the side of his van without any signal problems.
Seem to remember it comes with a bracket for horizontal or vertical mounting.

This is a good idea. I think I have seen a place I can mount the bracket and then pop the ariel pole into the bracket when parked up.

Re: T.V. Ariel
i have one of these

but i took all the plastic nastyness off it and simply attached it to the inside roof of my hightop with a couple of bits of velcro, threw the mains part of the aplifyer away and just kept the 12v bit, works a treat and i dont have to worry about taking it down, screwing brakets onto the van or some bugger knicking it
