Noisy Tappets
Hi
Nigel has finally replaced all 8 pushrod seals (2l Aircooled) but now the tappetts are really noisy and there is still a small drip from somewhere (definatley not the pushrods)...
are noisy tappetts a bad thing (and if so, how do we resolve) and will looking for this new leak be like finding a needle in a haystack??

Re: Noisy Tappets
Chech oil level first. If they were ok for the first part of the journey it looks like they have lost pressure and this can be caused by lack of oil.
Check everyting is done up tight too (rockers etc.) to be on the safe side.

Re: Noisy Tappets
Gertie's bloke has asked if he needs to drain the oil to check if the rockers are tightened?
oil level is saying almost full.....but its really difficult to tell in my van as it stands nose down (dodgy lowering kit

No, no need to drain oil. May get a little dribble out when rocker cover is removed though so best to put rag or container underneath to catch it.
