1.9TD or TDI conversion...who to use and how much?

Post by dcfb77 »

Recently got a syncro which I have been doing up.

Now's the time to either sort uot the smokey JX engine (turbo covered in oil) or upgrade to an 1.9 TD or TDI.

Can anyone recommend anyone who can do this work? Also, how much should I expect to pay to have this done?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks, David

got a 1zmtdi for sale if your interested which would eliminate the need for wiring a tdi (no worries about the engine stopping due to a sensor or ecu packing up ) and be a cheaper install similar to putting in a td altho you would need to get your gearing done (talk to aidan talbot). Brickwerks do installs and so do syncronutz more info in the wiki and on the brickyard sorry the brief response just leaving work

Syncronutz all day long for me, and well worth the 420 mile journey their to get my AAZ 1.9td conversion done. They work on syncros all day long and you know it will be done right first time. It would be the obvious choice for me as a syncro owner though Brickwerks would be a very close second as far as syncros go. There are slightly different things going on with a syncro than a 2wd van and you need these things done by people who are familiar with the whole syncro set up. I would think an AAZTD conversion would be just over half the price of a TDI conversion.

I know its hard to give a ball park figure but any idea as to roughly how much would an AAZ conversion set me back?

I'm guessing some of you have got it done professionaly so please let me know what price you paid...would really help me shop around.

Thanks, David

again I say where is you ?
most peeps on here do it themselves and the professionals won't be answering that q on a public forum
email syncronutz and brickwerks and see what they have to say, try spannerboy simon too if you are down south, or futbus or syncrospares in the sw
other than them I wouldn't know who to recommend

have a read on brickyard there's a full what/how to on AAZ installation

Aidan speaks the truth here.. if you want a professional quote then speak to Simon (Brickwerks) or Russell (nutz) or to Simon (Spannerboy)

All are well known and reputation goes a long way here.. just as if you need a gearbox, you go see Aidan!

Jebiga41 - this mtdi engine you have keeps cropping up all over the place ... any chance of an explanation>?
