MOT Advisory Note.

Post by eric »

Hello all,
Back in September, when my MOT was done, an advisory note was attached saying, "Suspension joint offside upper dust cover split/missing."

The shed is having the linkages refurbished later this week by a garage in Bridgend (called BBBC), so it seems an ideal opportunity to have the above done as well.

Can anyone help as to what part(s) I should obtain and from where?

Thanks guys.

Eric.

Thank you for that Aidan, but why on earth didn't my Garage Guru Bloke call it the "Upper Ball Joint?"

..... and, should I get two just in case the other one is on it's way out?

they had a lot of problems in the past with garages calling things funny names that only the garage understands, or garages failling the wrong things, or just generally being thick MOT testers (Next step up from tyre fitters)
Now, on the computerised MOT malarkey they can only select certain fail/advise criterior from drop down menus.
So, they have advised using the unambigous(?) wording that VOSA devised.
Bless 'em.

Its fair though - the rubber bit is split so thats a warning that crap can get in and grease out, but the ball joint itself would have been a fail.
