Hi Mate
We stayed a a camp site that was also an hour North East of Paris, but they ran a coach trip to Paris every other day. Can't remember exactly how much, but we thought it was good value. It gave you a very long day in Paris. Campsite is called 'Berny Riviera' . We stayed their with Eurocamp, but they had a large touring site too. Facilities were excellent, indoor swimming pool etc. Have a look on the Eurocamp website.

Re: campsites near paris?
thanks guys
that looks promising and if they lay on a coach into paris its ideal, just thought it would be nice to take the kids into paris as theyve never been but dont want it to take up to much relaxing time, eventually heading for the atlantic coast so should be able to route it in quite easily

thanks hoppy
that does look nice, it looks like there is a train of some sort to paris only 20 mins so could be an ideal base for a couple of days of exploring paris, they have a few sites in france which look nice as well
cant wait to get on that ferry now - going from dover as its only £100 return, (we are on isle of wight and the portsmouth ferry is at least £400) and think that is more than manageable from calais in one go
when you off there?

Hey Rod,
We used our Tesco club card vouchers and basically it was free to go on the tunnel.
For every £5 voucher you get a £20 voucher to spend on either the tunnel or the ferry.
So if you hace £25 of tesco vouhers hanging around it'd FREE!
Enjoy the trip

Re: campsites near paris?
Hi,
There is a campsite in the Bois du Boulogne which is about 20mins walk from the Arc de Triomphe. I've never stayed there but this is where we are planning on staying in August. Don't stray too far into the Bois du Boulogne at night though otherwise it will be more than a teddy bears picnic you'll find!!!
Hope this helps: http://www.paris-tourisme.com/campsite/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Click on where you want then zoom in, click on the info button and it usually gives you gps directions for some free places and some campsites, http://www.furgovw.org/mapa_furgoperfecto.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
