what dash bulbs?

hi hope this is an easy one, got a dash bulb out, speedo one, took out the bulb/holder but was wondering is it a standard bulb that comes with the plastic holder? mine fell to bits when i took it out, has it a type number, if so what is it? i dont mean the actual bit that holds the bulb in the dash just the bit you twist out. cheers in advance

Have a look at Brickwerks' shop. I recall getting two types in as I had loads bust. I think the cheaper GSF stuff breaks too easily so worth the postage.

its the bottom one on the just campers link does it have a number and would i get one from a local car spares shop? someone told me its a 509t fitting but it looks different

just looked on just kampers £2.40 for 2 bulbs £2.80 for postage! cant be right can it?

If you're going to buy them from JK give them a ring, they should be able to do you a more realistic rate over the phone ... well they did for me on an exhaust gasket.

try vw about £5.00 for 6 bulbs if i recall

Also seen LED types on ebay from time to time. On mine I soldered LEDS into place and fitted a suitable resistor, but then theres no reason why you can't ignore the old bulb fittings altogether I guess and just run a few leds where you want them, on their own circuit.
