hand brake light

I have a 1983(A) reg devon 1.9 water boxer camper van, it is slowly being restored to her former glory.However should there be a handbrake warning light working on the dash. There is a number of blank spaces in the dash board where one might have been and i think it could be on the top left near the light switch, but this is my first T25 and i am not sure beause if there is it has never worked. Can anyone shed some light on this one, cheers karl.

only fitted on dual circuit braked vans chassis letter F onward, though there was one on chassis letter D and E it is now obsolete - have you got a spare plug hanging around looking for something to plug into ? and whats your chassis number ? (just put xx for last two digits)
