Help needed
Vw t25 transporter 1900cc water-cooled (DG)
2nd hand engine fitted, said to be reconditioned
1st had broken engine stud
Got next engine off eBay- nice guy from Portsmouth
My engine electronic ignition
2nd has got points
Turned engine, was tight, now turns quit free
But will not fire
Fitted my distributor( electronic)
Set to top dead centre no1 cylinder is off set
Put in points distributor set to top dead centre - no1 cylinder is right
Should I change coil or get new electronic dizzy
May be some wiring issues, will take photos and put online

Do you have a haynes manual?
If not get one..

Sounds to me like you need to go back to basics and check that the distributor drive is in the correct postion at TDC, then refit the electronic dizzy.. the points one is useless.. recheck you have the ignition leads in the correct position and that fuel is geting through..

Ceck that you have plugged everything back in and is in the correct position..
