question on schofields window seals
Just bought some window seals from schofields for a van conversion [autohomes] The guy on the phone said they come pre-cut to size, as they all have the same openings, is this true?
I just can't get my head around that all the different conversion companies used the same templates for the openings.
Or do you think the guy got a bit mixed up? and was talking about a caravelle
Has any bought window rubbers from schofields for a van conversion, does it come in one long roll? Or does it really come pre cut.
Any answers would happily recieved, to stop me thinking about it, as they don't arrive for a couple of days

Re: question on schofields window seals
I think they are right as don't forget they had to cut the holes to fit the glass which is toughened so it stands to reason they are are about the same size... of course there will always be the exception to the rule!
It is by will alone that I set my 'van' in motion!

Re: question on schofields window seals
err think there are a couple of different glass sizes....as my velle has the black plastic air filters on the furthermost rear windows.....the glass would be smaller but the opening would be the same size, so a pre-cut rubber would be ok. I believe my panel van conversion to have the larger size glass.
But unless I could get the measure out, I couldn't be certain.

Van conversion rubber come as a long length that needs cutting to size, i've had a few sets off them, also every set have had JK labels on them as well as AS ones. Caravelle windows are all the same obviously. Normally have about 10 inches spare.

Re: question on schofields window seals
I've just had all the window rubbers replaced on my (1987 Autohomes panel conversion) van with Scholefield's finest. Pre-cut sets. No problems ..

Re: question on schofields window seals
Cheers everyone, next thing is, do i fit them myself? Seems to be different opinions on the threads on how easy/hard they are to do. Had a local guy quote £150 for all 6 windows, doesn't seem to bad a price, or should i be able to get it cheaper? Or damien do you do this kinda work? Would rather give the work to someone who likes/is used to the vans

I use hampshire windscreens, then if it goes wrong its not my wallet that gets hit. His prices are the best around. Also used to own a bay so likes a chat.
The panel van type windows are easy gets a bit trickier with front and rear screens though

Re: question on schofields window seals
Yes,spoke to them today. They quoted me the same price, will use them though as they have fitted them to the vans before.
They will have to sit in my hall this week as the vans off having an lpg conversion this week.
Thanks for the contact, Lloyd
Will post up if they actually fit next week
