T25 Bodykits????
Hi, I wondered if anyone has had any dealings with non original body kits on T25s.
I know they are not to everyones taste and the one we are looking at is quite subtle.. What I wanted to know was if anyone knew if "GRP" is a good or bad material for the kit. We can only find one supplier so if anyone knows of any we would appreciate it! They will be being fitted professionally so thats not going to be a factor in our search.
Many thanks.

Cheers mate, do you know if £370 sounds reasonable for a full kit?

Re: T25 Bodykits????
Lets take the late model bumpers as a prime example. You have a number of choices:
-Buy originals in good condition
-Buy originals that need work
-Buy reproductions to near original spec (No More Rusty Bits, Volksmagic)
-Buy lightweight reproductions that bond over the steel bumper
The first 2 options aren't cheap. I picked up some originals that needed tidying (bumpers only) for £250 but that was a lucky deal. I have seen them for much more and they are getting harder to find.
The ones from No Rusty Bits are decent thickness but in my opinion, not up to OEM thickness and use slightly different fixings in places. They still are expensive.
Lightweight ones look good and unless you prang them do the job admirably. The problem is there are a lot of poor copies out there that sag in the middle. I supply lightweights (made by a reputable, long standing supplier) that bond on as well as sideplanks that can be screwed/bonded. I think the original VW brackets are a mixed blessing and many people don't like the idea of drilling into good metal unnecessarily anyway. For one of my vans I am using originals and on another lightweight repros, purely because of what they are being used for.
The choice is yours really, it's all down to personal preference and budget.
Without knowing which kit and who is supplying it it's hard to tell you about the quality. There aren't many designs for these vans and some fare better in strength and rigidity than others. Many original designs have been reproduced with poor quality versions over the years. The side skirts/planks and bumper ends are the usual points of breakage.
Let me know what you are looking at and I can advise.

Thanks very much for the info, the body kit we were looking at is from RS BODYKITS, they advertise on ebay.
Do you supply a similar kit? If so do you have a website ?
Thanks Tommy

Re: T25 Bodykits????
Same kit.
It's a reproduction of the late model VW kit.
No website but I can send photos to a mobile number if you want to see a kit.
Is your van LHD/RHD?
PM me with the details.

Re: T25 Bodykits????
Totally agree.
They're better than the Just Kampers ones. As close to OEM as you can get. It's down to $$$ at the end of the day.

Re: T25 Bodykits????
No more rusty bits are the best - I have just had a lovely experience fitting a customers ebay £150 special which required me to bond an old steel bumper inside it and fabricate the side fixings - horrid job, looks good now but would rather spend the extra cash on quality!

Thats PEET as in FEET!!!

Does anyone know where I can buy 2 long and 2 medium length hangers/fittings that the side planks mount on to?

Re: T25 Bodykits????
What's the current situation on front spoilers (other than Classic parts £££)?
Anyone know of a good quality source, repro/different/one piece or otherwise? I have a genuine VW one with two whacking great holes in it where the SA bullbars once attached
and the middle piece is long gone
