After having the van off the road for 6 months I’m going to swap the knackered gearbox!
I have read that you can do this with the Engine still in situ or you can drop the box and engine together and then split once on the floor.
From experience which way do you guys recommend, one thing to mention the engine was dropped 18 months ago so I’m hoping nothing will be seized so it should drop easily?
Any advice appreciated

Re: GearBox Out!!
leave engine insitu get a pair of 6 tonne axle stands from machine mart and make up a board to go on the trolley jack as in the wiki I think, battery,starter/and or connection, clutch slave cylinder, 2 driveshaft flanges and a gearbox mount and the engine to box bolts pretty straightforward, no need to break into water system, loosen front balance water pipe on late vans to allow front of engine to come down without straining owt and have support for petrol engine like ratchet strap to save over stressing the rubber engine mounts
