I got mine from here http://www.paco-systems.co.uk/vactan.html It was about a tenner for a litre plus postage. Might be worth a look if you need a big bottle. Worked out cheaper than ebay for the amount I wanted (not all for the van I hasten to add  )

They also did some good fireproofing spray for upholstery, woodwork etc too
What a long strange trip it's been

It does not like salt/grit, so cover it up with paint as soon as you can

btw, unless you've got access to a warm and cosy garage isn't it still too cold and damp to be working on rust with chemical products? :?

Apparently it is used by various Navies (sp) to rust proof bits of ships, so it must be good ( I suppose )

I have used it (on the voids behind the rear wheels where the air filter inlet goes on the offside, and the empty one (on petrol vans) on the other side).

I removed as much of the surface rust as I could, painted the Vatcan on both sides of the panel, left it to dry and then put anti rust primer over the top. That was 2 years ago and it seems to have done the trick so far :)

I agree re doing rust jobs during warm dry times of the year (if such times will ever come back in the UK  ) If you are not careful, you end up just sealing the moisture in there !

My next "rust attack" will be on the area around the fuel filler and a bit around the rear side windows, but I am waiting for the warm dry weather before handing it to my tame bodywork guy ! (wonder how long I will have to wait  )

Vactan has a 12 month shelf life so don't buy too big a bottle. Besides, it goes a LONG way. I think I introduced it to 80/90 and there was a discount for about a month when I first heralded its usefulness.

It's amazing how many rust treatment products make similar claims. :?
