Hi Glyn/Rob
I have been thinking for some time about replacing my front to back pipes, I repaired then a couple of years ago but I have now decided to replace them before the annual trip to spain,. I have just ordered mine fromJK my question to Rob did you have any issues fitting them? Do you still need to drop the petrol tank as in the wiki example

And another question to add to the list: Is it worth painting them in something like underseal / hammerite?

1.no need to drop the tank as both pipes come in two halves.the wiki is referring to the full length one piece pipes.
2.they are stainless steel so no need to paint them.

Oh is that why there are four pipes in the JK pictures - I'd been wondering about that for ages!

Do they supply the connectors to put them together as well then?

Probably a good idea to drop the fuel tank if you havent do so anyway...

Hi Rob
Thanks for the info, mine arrived today. We are awayin the van next week after that I will look to fitting them, hope its a lot warmer. Good that you don't have to drop the tank, I replaced mine already the tank fitting isn't the issue its those blasted rubber grommets, What a nightmare!!!

Now i don't know if this is a dumb ass question but i can get hold of ID25mm radiator hose for £20 which is long enough to do the underside pipes but the metal pipes that were there were ID32mm, does the water flow at such a rate and pressure that this difference in size would make a difference? ?:
The only alternative is to get the stainless pipes from JK for £200.

Thats a good question.. jk sell a lot of different ones and (typically  ) don't give any indication as to the difference. Anyone know?

all plastic are the same bore
petrol/diesel are a different shape.

diesel finish in engine bay / petrol finish next to gearbox

if your going from metal you can stretch the old rubberones over, smear a little oil or wd40 on them first!

I know what I would do here = try it (at that price difference !) - I reckon it would be fine ( but I stand ready to be corrected  )
