oil light flashing at idle only
The oil light on my van (2.1 DJ 89/90 Whitestar) is flashing at idle 850 rpm but it goes out with tiny bit of throttle just below 1000rpm and does not come on at all when driving until you stop and rest at idle again. There is no buzzer at all. Temperature never goes above middle even in traffic and oil level is spot on. Doe this sound like a dodgey sender, wiring or could it be oil pump? I have had a selection of electrical gremlins surface since van has had little use over the winter is this another of those. Any thoughts? Cheers

Interesting what should idle be. Oil was changed when it was serviced the day i collected van. I have done about 3000 miles and not needed to top it up. Was going to service in next few weeks so its ready for another season. So not sure what oil is in it. What is best oil for this engine. During the 3000 miles it never flashed at all. its only been since i started using it after about 10 weeks of not using it.

was mot'd and serviced day before it became mine. Had very good service including leads plugs, filters etc. As i said will be servicing soon as its only done 3000 since last one. will check wiring to senders also. Will up the idle slightly and get new oil in it. Cheers
