one more syncro in ireland

Post by syncron ice »

Hi all,

I'm a relative newbie but couldn't formally introduce myself until I had something to show.

Just the finishing touches (camper) as I type and should be on or off the road next week!

that site is the dogs.ive just been watching the video clips, fookin class watching all them vans swimming and that :D
how did you find dealing with them and how did they find the van for you?
one thing i have noticed while looking through all these syncro sites and other bits and bobs over the last year is that the germans do like a high top.even the yanks seem to be keen.i think its because they have more wilderness type places instead of being pushed in a small area in the trees out of the way like in the uk so a high top doesnt seem to be a problem.infact its a plus to them i think.
looking forward to seeing your van

Hi Jed,

Mike Plompen is the guys name and I went over and test drove it. He picked me up from the station, made me some lunch and drove me 150km back to Charleroi airport. Great to deal with and thanks to him and his family.

Its a factory hi-top 16 and it keeps the van very rigid so I'll just have to live with the cross-winds.

The guy who is fitting it is Marc Peters (another syncro fan) from Holland and I wanted it re-sprayed so he organised it also.

Yes, there seems to be a lot more places to have fun over there.

looks like Mike's sorted you right out with that one - you've got a nice van in the making.

welcome!

You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape; If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

Yes, the camouflage ambulance.

Had to spray it unfortunately- but looks ok anyway.

I would also highly recommend Mike and in particular the hospitality he afforded me.

Eh, Andrew, 2 is enough for a pi$$ up! I reckon we'll all have to get a proper get-together soon though! I just havent had the time to get my van dirty these past few months. Ill have August fairly free though, so Syncron Ice, keep a weekend free and lets see what your new and very nice van can do!
