I've got a good driveaway awning, but it is very large and can taken a while to set up. However its brilliant for the four of us.
However when i go away with a mate or just the kids i want something that is easy to put up for one or two nights. Has anyone any tips or advice, any help appreciated,
I've got a autosleeper poptop which sleeps four and i have a fiamma wind out awning. i just thought something quick if its peeing down, as i go off mountain biking, would come in handy, if only as a changing room..
We've just got a pop up gazebo with sides..... just as an alternative if we're only going for a night and dont need the full awning. packs away into a metre long bag and you can then choose whether to use the sides or not.
For us its a stop gap until we can afford a fiamma f45!

Hi.
Been thinking of getting a gazebo with sides, do you have any information/comments on the the type you have?
Thanks.
We had the same problem and got one of these http://www.outdoor-revolution-awnings.c ... ility-Tent
You can get them cheaper if you hunt around. The only down side was that the sides don't open up although the front (away from the van) does. You can also get it just as a tent (i.e. without the van connection section) a bit cheaper. It was simple and well made so did the job for us.

Hi, some friends of ours used one last year and it was so easy to put up and down. We brought ours second hand and havent used it yet as havent been away but looks pretty simple!
we were looking at these ones: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WATERPROOF-GAZEBO ... 20ace38d25" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
just a good alternative if we are going away for 1 or 2 nights and dont want to do the full awning, means we can still keep dry if having a bbq etc!

We stopped using a drive away for those very reasons.
So now we just have a sun canopy/awning
What one do you have Kev? I've got a drive away awning but it's as old (but in really good nick all things considered) as the van - I don't want to get rid as of yet as it really is very retro (made in Germany with something about Munich on it) and suites the van but its a pain to put up and store TBH. So was looking at more of a sun canopy or the one that Fiamma does - not the F?? ones but the cheaper option - can't remember the name.
