Germany.. have you started gettin your van ready?
The clock is ticking so I've started getting the Syncro ready and the more I do, the more there is to do!
The entire braking system is being replaced very soon and at the same time all the CV joints will be done. The awning is fitted and looks good, but now the roof rack that the roof tent goes on wont fit so that has to be modified. The roof cabinet is fitted and looks good as is the CB radio. Cool box is OK and I bought a Porta Potti but have not tested it yet. I haven't fitted the kitchen unit yet (or even seen it come to that) as Dave hasn't taken it out of his attic! Twin batteries are fitted and I bought a 300w 230v inverter.
As myself and the new good lady have never really camped before, I need to go and get 'camping stuff'. I'm lucky because there is a 'camping stuff' shop not too far away so I will go there - might start with a toilet tent or a saucepan or something. I have containers and boxes to put this 'stuff' into so you can see I'm organised.
So... what have you go to do to your van?

Judging by the drive this morning it's time for a gearstick grease up.
I am attending the syncro meet but am not participating as I'm 2WD.

I'm taking the Atlantic.
SO far I have to.
Pay for tickets/sponsorship.
Book a ferry.
Stop turbo pipes blowing off at every opertunity.
Best get cracking!
To be fair, only this last weekend was my brother confirmed as coming with me, so couldn't really do anything until then.

Re: Germany.. have you started gettin your van ready?
after finding out how much 2.5kg camping gas cost (a lot), i have ben busy making the 7kg butaine bottle that jed gave me fit in to the camper. oh and i have got to fit the petrol catch tank on the drivers side.
then let sally pack it, if i were to do it something vital like a tooth brush will be in the wrong cubard and i will never hear the end of. and it's a long drive home

Good point ....... made note!

I got the roof rack bracket sorted today. Quite pleased with my aluminium welding ....... long time since I did any. Weather has slowed the progress but should get back to it soon. I now need to get the roof tent fitted and checked out.
Found a complete oil cooler kit that I forgot I had so that's now on the list .....

Re: Germany.. have you started gettin your van ready?
My van wont be going to Germany but Fred the Sika hopefully will, just had an engine transplant, more underbelly protection added, rust removed from the usual places around the bed, still need to change the transmission oils, modify the front end, get a new mot, fit the lift kit, buy new tyres, fit the cb, repair the locker doors, paint it,build a box to hold the tent, spares etc.,repair the pickup bed, get a tarp, fit the bull bar AND find enough money to pay for it all!
This is still less work than the Van needed!
