Hi everyone
I've been sold what was supposed to be a late handle but when I went to fit it I found that the back of it is too long, i.e the square pin with the screw hole and the barrel itself are longer than the one I have taken out. The fella I bought it from says that he has sent me a late handle as I asked for
but I'm not convinced.
Can anybody tell me what the difference is between the early door handle and the late one?
The one I am trying to fit has a handle length of approx 165mm. The barrel length is approx 64mm from the outer face of the key hole to the end of the barrel and the length of the protruding square pin is approx 40mm.
I have checked images in the garage of other later door handles and can only really say that the handle recess I have is the same as the late ones shown and I have also check my chassis number on the Brickwerks website which tells me the vehicle was built in May 85.
Thanks
Neil

Re: Sliding door handle
As you probably know late handles are much longer than early.
late handles look too small in early sliders.... and early handles foul on late doors
