Ok, so I know that this is the forum for 80-90 syncros but I'm wondering if there are any words of wisdom on T4 syncros. I never thought I'd get interested in T4s but am really enjoying my ex-AA TDi whilst the T25 syncro project is underway. I've heard a few details of a T4 syncro panel van available, don't know the mileage as yet. I suspect that it is a 2.4D rather than TDi. My understanding is that T4 syncros do not compare at all well with T3/T25 syncros for weight distribution and off-road traction and handling - that the all-wheel drive is more for on-road traction than getting muddy off-road. I also get the impression that transmission components are very expensive to recondition or replace so I guess high milers are worth avoiding for that reason.
If you have any experience and feel like jotting a few thoughts then I'd be glad to hear.

Re: T4 syncro enquiry
not had any direct experiance with a t4 syncro, but i`ve got 2 t3 syncros and a t4 daily rat. i think the t4 syncro would make a nice winter daily and i know they cope reasonably well off road but they are not the dedicated 4x4 that the t3 is. i`d like one even with the 2 t3 syncros but getting in to the t3`s put a smile on my face that i just dont get with the t4.
