HELP EXCHANGERS INFO

i have a 2.0L Aircooled cu engine in my t25 the old bay engine
iam just finninshing of my rebuild and when i cam to fit my heat exchangers there seems to be a peice missing or iam going mad :D
i have all the pipes but there is a square outlet at the side of the exhaust bracket what the hell fits there or should it be open? ive rang round no one can help vw herritage sent me the part they think it may be but it was only a small plate that bolts onto the exchanger but still leaves a hole :?:
its for warm air but should it go to somthing ?

Looks like the near side one(Left side) ? I'm going out to have a fiddle on mine now so I can have a look for you

That is a bay heat exchanger, the square hole is for ducted air from the cooling fan and the one on the top is for the ducted air from the electric auxiliary fan.

The 1 year only Bay window heat exchangers are different to the correct T25 ones.. sell those Bay ones for a good price (if in good nick) and get the T25 ones.. IIRC the bay ones are shorter so the silencer may foul on the engine bar...

its the right engine that came with the van engine numbers match its a bay window cu engine
all firms sell the exchangers but not 1 can tell me what should fit on the hole ???? is it ment to be open?
as for selling them i cant as the fitting is diferent to the inlet mine has the raised inlets and the t25 exchangers have a flat fitting

As previously said that doesn't look quite the right heat exchanger for the CU in a T25. I have just ordered a new left hand side one for mine and it doesn't have that extra hole. I've just taken a picture let me go and upload it somewhere and i'll post it up

i think i know what iam going to have to do and weld up the extra hole or get a set of t25 exchangers and weld the raised inlet pipes on as i think thtas what had been done to my old ones but they were rotten
