The alternator on my van has a coil spring as a tensioner. Does this help identify my engine? Log book says it's an ABL but I am not sure it was replaced with the corrrect engine. Is there another way to tell? I've been told the engine type is only on a sticker on the belt cover. I was also advised to replace the water pump at the same time as the timing belt, but the water pump is NOT powered by the timing belt!
Is the ABL engine fitted to anything else? Anyone able to advise me please?
Thanks

ABL engine water pumps are driven by the alternator belt.

Still don't know what's what regarding other engines but this ABL is the correct engine for my van. The alternator I have has a coil spring as the tensioner and is correct for the ABL. So... I don't know if there are other engines/vehicles which carry this alternator. Not a lot of help eh?

And here's me thinking i'd answered that question on the Brick-Yard.....
GSF list the same part number(90404) for 1.9TD(ABL),1.9D(1X)and the 2.0(ACC) petrol engines and costs £87.50
There's no 'r' in bought!
