Battery

Hi, our van has been parked up for the last 5 months and I started it the other day no problem. Should I check battery liquid levels? Where is the battery that the engine uses? (I know where the leasure bat is, under seat) Thanks to all yet again, I love this forum and all the kind people who help me!
