Wire to choke unit

Post by Cruz »

On a recent inspection I noticed that the black wire from the auto choke unit on my pierburg carb is frayed where it meets the white/red connector block. Thus 12v is not going to the choke unit.

Anyone know a cheap supplier of these connectors as vehicle wiring products charge £3.95 postage for a £1.50 connector

Or could I replace it for male and female insulated spade connectors?

PS. Just out of curiosity what does the wire to the choke unit do?

as far as i know its a +12 volt feed that powers the heater strip in the auto choke as long as you feed it with 12 volts i dont suppose it matters what connector you use
dont fix it if its not broke cos after you finish it will be!

VW still list the connector for about £1 for both parts. Will probably get that as there is a van centre on the other side of town
