Odometer not working

Post by 156silver »

The odometer has stopped working in my T25. The speedo still works fine.
1982 2.0L Aircooled.

Any ideas on what the fault is and how to fix it?

Thanks

Hi if the speedo is still working I think the only thing that will fix it is a new complete speedo head..

sometimes the number dials pop out of the gear on one side, a blob of super glue will stick it back. need to get the dash pod off to get to it,

And it sometimes doesn't last long unless you use an expensive superglue :ok

The diagnosis is correct though. If you take speedo guage out of dash assembly, you'll eventually see that one cog has slid along and is no longer making contact. Its a known problem and can be fixed this way.

Took the speedo out and the main drive cog from the worm gear had fallen off! Replaced with superglue and we'll see how long it lasts!
Thanks for your help.
