cooling flaps

Hi

Is there anyway i can see the cooling flaps as I am concerned that mine might be catching somwhere. I say this as when I push the protrusion where the thermostate cable connects to it only moves by about 10mm toward the front. I know its cold at the moment but im pretty sure my thermostat doesnt work as it appears that the flaps are in the failsafe position or half way.

Perhaps I should make sure the thermostate works first!

I assume that the protrusion on the flap bar should be as forward (towards front of van) as it can go when its cold and in this weather. Right?

there is not a lot of movement between hot and cold on that bar.

Yep, it pulls the cable down, so (from memory) the bit the cable attaches to on the bar should be pointing towards the front of the van and when it's hot or if you disconnect the cable it should be pointing up. Again from memory it's a quarter turn from closed to open, horizontal to vertical. My thermostat is knackered by the way, so mine are constantly open which is the failsafe position.

Yeap that sounds about the same as mine so it sounds OK

I have just tried my flaps and they are in the open position but there is def only an 8th of a turn between open and closed - it hardly moves at all
