12v TV
Hello all, I have seen some 12v TVs on the bay of fleas and they say they are 240vAC/12vDC. Now they come with a 5amp transformer that goes to the ac mains, I messaged one of the sellers and they recon I could just hard wire it in with an inline fuse(not sure what size whould be best). I have a Type L85 leisure battery and will be running a propex(X1), headunit (DVD) and lights (3 Strip lights). So my questions are
A: can I wire this TV direct and discard the transformer
B:Will this drain the leisure battery pretty quick
Thanks in advance, Mark

Re: 12v TV
Will it run at 14v is what you need to ask. A recently charged battery will be at 13.5v +.
Use a voltage stabilizer.

Re: 12v TV
tv will work fine but run it through a 12v-12v reg, rather than direct which could be from 10-11v to 14-15v,

Re: 12v TV
I bought a Flat screen 17" LCD TV from e-buyer. they sell them "with adapter"
This means it's 12V.
Now I just removed the "adapter" (read transformer) kept the in-line 4A fuse and hard wired it in.. superb.
cost £160

Re: 12v TV
not working.
I thought it's DC current that's important not the voltage my 12v bulbs get 13..14 v in the cabin they don't blow.

Re: 12v TV
No kev some thing are fairly volt tollerant, lcd screens and laptops are not, yes they will stand a small fluctuation but not 2-3 volts, ,
your bulbs will run as low a voltage as will light them and as high until they blow (not tried it recently but guess 8-18volts) no doubt others on here with the time /knowledge will give more thorough advice.
