Hi top sikaflex

Post by Snag20 »

Right Hi top has now been painted and aditional rear widow fitted.

About to commence with the fitment.

I understand that PU adhesive sealants are used-- Sikaflex , Tigerseal in particular.

Been on the Evilbay-- there seems o be lots of different Sikaflex--- 221, 291, 255, 512, 295

Very confusing--which version should I use ?

cheers

Hi

The Sikaflex you need is 221 it sets just like rubber I have used in black and White. Its Matt in finish and sticks like S*** to a blanket. I use it on Ships so it will be fine on a camper! :ok

I would get at least 2/3 per side then another 2 front 2 back so 9/10 should be plenty what I did was to get 4 tubes at first then with the roof up lay a bed of the sealant where it will rest then sit the roof back down, using a wet finger smooth off the sealant that has squeezed out when it is neat this can be left to dry takes a good 1/2 days then judge how much more you will require to produce a neat watertight finish.
