Washer jet access

Post by sjmtlewy »

My washer jets are loose, which I suspect is letting water in.

I cant see any obvious means of access, from either side. How are these attached and how do I get behind them to do some tightening?

Fit Peugot jets for a better spread of water and they are only a couple of quid each.

See this for more info.

I tried the Peugot jets but I didnt like them, I think i have a pair still you can have for price of P&P
or buy genuine vw jets from
http://www.volkswagenemporium.co.uk/

avoid the aftermarket Jk jets

JK have a maximum p&p charge of £5 for online orders. For small items such screen washer jets they charge postage at cost price. :)

The screen washer jets I got from JK were genuine VW but some peeps have had after market parts.

Really? I'll have to check the postage again then...

I can get to the back of the left washer jet, but the one on the right is behind the wiper armature, which seems to make it nigh on impossible to get to without removing the dash (its LHD, so things are a bit different).

Hopefully I wont have to do any of this.. but where is the actual washer pump?

The washer pump is fastened to the side of the washer reservoir under the front left hand side wheel arch.

Got round to doing this at last.. Somewhat mangled the hoses in the process and ended up yanking more through and cutting the hose back to good. Just hope the tension on the hose won't now pull it off the jet.

Most was frustrating part was aligning the jets - they seemed intent on either spraying the roof or the metalwork! Eventually got it though.
