What is this for!

Post by albertramsbottom »

Hi

I am currently attempting to ensure there isnt any holes in the timware in my engine bay and was wondering what this pipe is for. One end of it goes to the alternator (obviuosly for cooling) and the other end goes to the left and through a hole (but has nothing on the end)

Becuase it seems to have some rather large gaps around it on the lefthand side where it joins the hole that leads to under the van

Is this right?

Also I have a large round hole in the middle at the back of the engine compartment and one to the right where the relay wires go through

That pipe is for your heating. The alternator has a fan on it which blows air through this pipe (actually it splis into two pipes, this is one of them), down through your tinware and onto your heat exchanger. I'm guessing the pipe which connects to your heat exchanger underneath your tinware is missing.
So i'm guessing your heating doesn't work!??
