Odd clonking noise
Was driving yesterday when I heard a clonking / banging from the rear drivers side. Stopped and checked for anything loose, checked the wheel for excessive play etc but could find nothing amiss. The noise seems to appear between 30 and 50 and seems to go away above that speed. I drove home carefully and had another inspect but could still find nothing amiss. Anyone got any suggestions?

Invariably CV joints do the clonking.
