Hi there why is my van hesitating when it trys to start...What i mean is when i turn the key theres a slight pause then it turns over then starts...Someone told me it might be an earth but i havent a clue where to look......Also the van starts up ok in morning but when its warm i also have trouble starting it, it takes about 8 turns of the engine before it starts.......
Please can someone help.....

if it's a petrol then your starter motor connections might need cleaning up. they are on the motor.
on that motor is a solenoid, this allows huge currents to work this motor..it sticks as it gets older and the connections corrode with salted roads

Hi again lads i have also noticed that when i put my foot down the van hesitates a bit then puuls away.....any ideas

mine did this once and I found the transfer jet blocked......Remove the pancake top to the carb, get some one to depress the accelerator while you look in the carb to see a little "tap" squirt petrol into it's throat.
if it doesn't... report back
It could be an air leak....check the vacuum hoses are in place and not perished, check the braided vacuum hose from above No 3 & 4 is not leaking (Remove and fill it with water) gasketry is sound
blocked jet... blah blah and clean the carb out
Timing is out.. timing gun blah
