Just to fill in on the problems I've been having with my van:
Severe loss of power, untill it's warmed up it won't go over 40mph, when warmed up the power occasionally cuts out, followed by a violent judder if i don't get my foot of the accelerator quick enough. Particually bad up hills! Also it often cuts out at junctions/traffic lights etc when I come to a complete stop. Engine turns over again fine. Often when I first start the engine i need to keep my foot on the accelerator till it will idle fine, and will often need 2 or 3 attempts.
Right today i started changing the fuel hoses and front filter. I read Covkids write up on the filter in the carb but there isn't one on mine! I have no idea what carb I have, can't find any writing on it anywhere, but it looks quite different to the one in the manual (I have a 2l AC).
This is what I have got (oppologies for the poor pic!)

While i was looking about on the carb I noticed the tube that runs from the carb to the distributor (vacuum line?) was barely on the the brass pipe from the carb, i took it off completely and the rubber was a little split where it was attaches, so trimmed a bit off the end, and now it won't go back on very well (presumably why it was barely attached in the first place. Problem is the tube is obviously too narrow for the brass pipe! I tried a 5mm fuel pipe and that fits perfectly snug, problem is the other end where it goes into the dizzy, has a REALLY narrow pipe, so what was on there fits perfectly snug! Any ideas what I can do about this!
I also found another problem, there is fuel seeping out of the carb

I'm hoping I just need a gasket, but I've got no idea what gasket I need as, already mention, I don't know what carb I have.
By this time I was out of light!
Any help with any of this would be massively appreciated!
Billy.
