cold starting problem!

Post by leroiandjayne »

greetings, having a bit of a prob getting me bus started in this cold weather, dont remeber it being this bad last year cos it wasnt as cold but shes turning over for a good few mins before she properly fires up,when she does im greeted with large cloud of dark grey smoke then thins after a few more seconds, its 1.6 turbo diesel only done 70k from new, also have noticed on warmer days my glow lights only flash on for sec and she fires up almost instantly? any clues anyone? thanks in advance. :?

well what a complete idiot i feel!! havent got a manual as such only the diesel engine pocket jobby but have deduced that what iv always thought was the spare wheel release thingy to the left of the steering wheel is said cold start lever ha ha.just pulled it out and the spare never dropped off and she fired up immediatly with hardly any smoke heh heh. many thanks for your reply jason, genius mate genius!.  :D
