help no hot air from heater when tick over only getting heat when put foot accelater and temp gauge riseing when just tickover then goes back down when put more revs on . ..

maybe water pump although i dont know the petrol engines very well as both my bus's are oil burners.

Could be that it's got air in the system and the rise in engine speed is enough to move some water up to the heater.
Give it a bleed out - a full expansion tank doesn't mean much if the heater is airlocked. Might explain the temp gauge fluctuations? Mine needs regular bleeding 'cos the rad has a small split in the plastic header,from the bleed screw tapping.
Must fit a replacement rad!
