Looked at it but the cost was significantly more that going from Dover.
I would ideally have gone from Newcastle as its a good bit cheaper than Rosyth and not as far a drive a Dover.
The total cost difference going from Glasgow to Germany and back using Rosyth or Dover was £250, and even with a 2 year old in tow, were taking the long road and just adding an extra day on each end and going from Dover. Besides, there is going to be one hell of a good convoy on the dover ferry on wednesday morning.

I want to go but don't think it's going to happen. It is the May bank holiday weekend and it is the village camping trip and as I work away from home a lot will not be allowed to go. Don't know why they didn't arrange it for the summer holidays. Would have made more sense and I could have made a big family trip out of it.
Cheers
Rob.

1. Not everyone in Europe has the same 'summer holidays' as the UK.
2. Cost. Summer rates for everything
3. Decent venues were already booked.
4. The dates chosen were some of the few common dates available where we could actually get a suitable venue.
5. Most attendees will be local
There are 2 vans going from Hull on the Thursday night hopefully.
Then leaving campsite on Monday morning for a monday evening ferry, back here tuesday.
ditto......we're family summer holidaying, in Europe, in June. April would have been just too early for all of us, and if i went on my own I couldn't have afforded the time and money to both
